The Music Store, Inc is celebrating its 51st Anniversary.

The Music Store Inc. was born in January of 1972 to founding fathers Paris York and Bill Harris, well known former eastern Oklahoma band directors. The school band business was the main thrust of the company in those first 4 or 5 years. In 1977, Paris’s son Larry joined the staff after 4 years in the USAF band and over the next 4 years the company expanded more into the combo and PA business, although the school band business was still king with beginner band instrument rentals.

In 1981, Paris & Larry bought Harris out and The Music Store was now a family owned business with Larry taking over as president. The school band business was still a big part of The Music Store’s mission along with an even more expanded offering of sound, lighting, recording, backline rental, and school & church system installations thanks to Larry’s son Adam, who began his career at the family business in 2003 and serves as vice president. Larry’s oldest grandson Zachary Parsons has also been on staff since 2012 and represents the 4th generation. Located in Tulsa, Oklahoma, The Music Store is centrally located to serve the entire United States. We are staffed almost entirely by active musicians and educators, so we empathize and understand the needs of our customers, giving you the same friendly “Ma & Pa” service customers received back in 1972. Our family-owned business continues to create more music-makers by providing the best customer experience possible.

We invite you to join the thousands of students, gigging musicians, hobbyists, beginners, and enthusiasts who have chosen The Music Store as their go to music store. We can’t wait to serve you!
